Waypoint Family Resource Center, empowering people of all ages through an array of human services and advocacy. Lisa has a B.S. in Business Administration from Colby-Sawyer, an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Plymouth State College (now University), and a Ph.D. in Learning, Leadership and Community, also from Plymouth.
Lisa was accompanied by Waypoint staff members Ann Brownell and Emily Duff.
Waypoint is the oldest social service agency in the state of NH, established in 1850. Its most recent former name was “Child and Family Services of NH.” The name has been changed to reduce association with the NH government because the agency is a private, not-for-profit corporation, not a governmental entity.
Lisa has been at Waypoint for 2.5 years. Their services are determined by community needs surveys. They offer parenting classes, socialization opportunities, and other services. Their thriving playgroup serves about 25 parents and children weekly, both indoors at Waypoint and outside at Colburn Park.
They are working remotely now, as they move their offices from 63 Hanover Street to the Rivermill Commercial Center. Right now, the City is allowing Waypoint to use the winter shelter on Mechanic Street from 11am-2 pm for “Grab and Go” hygiene and cleaning supplies. They also have a diaper and formula bank.
